Black & Decker Ocillating Fans - Silent Force Blade technology
When decided to kick down the extra $10 for this fan what I thought I was paying for was the thermostat control, which I have come to enjoy in a box fan that we have, but what I got was the most ass kicking volume of airflow from a household fan I've ever felt, and it's quite to boot.
glassdog: "What's Wrong With: BitTorrent"

[T]he BitTorrent community needs to pull its collective head out of its socket and realize that real people want to accomplish real things with their little toy. And that can't happen until they stop playing with it, hose it off and put a pretty pink ribbon around its neck, so it's not so scary.

On my list of things to do once I get my office set up is install a bittorrent client. Sounds like it's gonna be lots of fun. Luckily I know people who know where there are good books on tape and such, so my learning curve won't be too bad. That said, why does open source software user experience have to suck so much? Are there no UE people willing to donate their time? Are there just so many fewer UE people out there that the community hasn't reached a critical mass where we work on projects together on the side? These are just brewing thoughts, maybe they'll distill, maybe they won't.

Streamingmedia.com: Patently Absurd? Streaming Users Face Acacia Patent Fight
I learned about this through Cybil's mom, who works as a project manager at FIDM. They are being sued for streaming media over their website. And it looks like they're just going to fork over the money. Fucking absurd. Does this mean they can just go after anyone who happens to stream a video, or music, on their website? Will they attack radio stations like KUSC that I listen to at work? What's next, attacking any site that uses Flash? Intellectual property law, intended to protect the rights of inventors, has been corrupted to the point where it's just another means for corrupt people to sick their lawyers on innocent bystanders.

BATMAN BEGINS
How bad-ass is that new metal bat logo? And the new car kicks. Christian Bale has played in 3 of my all time favorite movies, Henry V, American Psycho and Equilibrium. The supporting cast are also phenominal serious actors, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgon Freeman, and the doppleganger Gary Oldman, who I never recognize because he never plays himself, he's always in the role. Kinda makes one wonder how they ended up stuck with Katie Holmes. Not to end on such a down note, check out the trailer (you'll have to un-block the popup). It's dark and clever, a nice departure from the crappy-campy direction the last couple installments took.
